HamJam 2025 is right around the corner! The North Fulton Amateur Radio League (NFARL) invites you to join us for our annual amateur radio gathering dedicated entirely to supporting the next generation of Hams. Our Mission: It’s All About Youth! At its core, HamJam is a youth investment initiative. The funds raised directly support the NFARL YESA (Youth Education, Scholarship and Education) Program, providing scholarships, technical education, and support for youth adventures like DXpeditions. 🚨 URGENT CALL TO ACTION: FIGHT FOR YOUR AIRWAVES!
Act NOW to Pass H.R. 1094/S. 459 and Restore Antenna Rights! Fellow NFARL Members and Hams across the U.S., For far too long, restrictive Homeowners Associations (HOAs) have stripped licensed Amateur Radio Operators of their basic property rights, blocking the installation of antennas crucial for both our hobby and, more importantly, our vital role in emergency preparedness. When the grid is down and cell service fails, Amateur Radio is the last mile of communication. But how can we serve our communities if we are silenced on our own land? The Fight is Here. The Time is NOW! The ARRL has […]

We are very sad to report that NFARL Club member Lori Young, K4UPI, passed away on Monday, July 21, 2025 after a long and courageous battle with kidney and liver failure. Lori was the wife of Daryl Young, K4RGK, and together they were a great team pursuing their hobby of ham radio collectively, as one. They were particularly interested in facilitating youth contacts with the Space Station through the ARISS program. They spent their 20th wedding anniversary helping students during an ARISS contact at the Mill Springs Academy!Lori was a registered nurse and got interested in ham radio at the […]

January is usually a busy month. This January is no exception. NFARL Club Members will receive the first of several surveys related to development of our club operating plan before February comes around. This survey will focus on what club members would like to see the Club offer regarding radio communications education and operating proficiency during the next 12 – 48 months. There will be follow up surveys asking for member input on the options that are decided upon based on the initial survey. Our NFARL operating plan will return to focus on the purposes described in the restated club […]

Well, here we are approaching the final days of 2024. While this time of year historically is associated with religious and social festivities, it also serves as a time to pause and reflect on action plans, events and outcomes undertaken during the last year. If done pragmatically, the understanding of the outcomes can be used to assist development of sound plans for the upcoming future. North Fulton Amateur Radio League collectively enjoyed some notable achievements in 2024. We had fun while exerting some effort, to conduct another successful ARRL Field Day event. We did well enough operationally to score at […]
