On the Air Again: Kittredge Radio Club Starts Strong with Antenna Upgrades and Record Enrollment

Kittredge Magnet School Radio Club is ready for a new school year! NFARL helped repair a damaged 40 meter End Fed Half Wave antenna. It was returned to full operation after taking off about 4 feet in length. (see the “before” photo, courtesy of Lee).

We also installed a new outside 2 meter and 70 centimeter vertical antenna for the vhf/uhf frequencies, and confirmed that the new higher roof location allowed many of the repeaters to be within operational range. This will be wonderful for the students as they earn Technician licenses.

Last year, three 5th and 6th grade students earned a license.  The after-school club sign-up for this school year filled up within 2 days – with 27 students!  We are ready to get on the air!

Thank you, NFARL, for your continued support of our school club.
