Wow—what an energetic and inspiring club meeting we had on Tuesday, May 20! With just 37 days to go until the 2025 ARRL Field Day weekend (June 22–23), our preparations are in full swing—and NFARL is coming together to make this our best Field Day yet!
🎯 This Year’s Theme: “Radio Connects”
We’re embracing the 2025 theme by doing exactly what ham radio does best: connecting people, skills, and communities across the airwaves.
👥 Leadership & Team Roles
A huge shout-out to our Field Day Co-Chairs: Dave KO4USA, Lee N4WYE, and Mike KN4OAK. They’re already driving planning with awesome momentum! Thanks also to Wayne KE4WYU for stepping up as our Safety Officer. We’re still looking for an Assistant—reach out if you’re interested!
📡 Field Day Stations & Operations
We’re locked in with a great tent setup, radios, and operating positions—including the CW, Phone (SSB), GOTA, 6M, and Satellite stations. Captains are taking point, but we need operators and volunteers! Signup sheets are almost ready—stay tuned to the NFARL website for updates!
🌭 Food, Hospitality & Fun
The amazing Lynn N4MSK is coordinating food and hospitality—but she needs volunteers and grill-masters for Saturday dinner (4–6 PM)! Don’t forget to let her know what sides or desserts you’re bringing. The club will provide meats, drinks, and snacks!
🛰️ Satellite Station
Daryl K4RGK and Scott KB4KBS are teaming up for a stellar Satellite station—complete with signs and the NFARES Pass Blocker tool to help us track the passes like pros.
🛠️ Setup & Tear-down Teams Needed
We need strong backs and good company for antenna setup on Friday morning (June 27) and tear-down on Sunday afternoon (June 29). CW dipoles, GOTA loops, and more—let’s get it done together.
💻 Tech Prep & Training
We’re making sure everyone is ready to operate! Training for FTDX10, Elecraft, N1MM logging, and emergency procedures is being planned. Got ideas for how we should run this training? Let us know!
📣 Marketing & PR
Now’s the time to tell the world what we’re up to! We’re looking for help with marketing, photography, and outreach before, during, and after Field Day. Bonus idea: let’s link this to a membership drive—invite your friends and neighbors to come see us in action!
📆 Next Steps
We’re forming sub-teams, organizing training, finalizing logistics, and polishing up the website. Keep an eye out for the signup forms, communications from Lynn, and details on how you can pitch in.
💥 Bottom line: We need YOU to make Field Day awesome! Whether you're logging, grilling, setting up, operating, or just stopping by—come be part of the action.
Let’s show the world how radio connects—see you out there!
