Jim Kauffman, W4IU
Jim is now retired after serving in the Navy Submarine Service, GE, and AIG. He was licensed in 1991 and held the call sign N7TTO for 20 years. After settling in Roswell. he changed his call to W4IU.
Jim enjoys all aspects of ham radio, including HF, VHF, and UHF, whether CW, SSB, FM, or Digital. In the last several years, Jim has been actively chasing POTA, mainly on CW, and activated several parks. He is also active with North Fulton’s ARES group and is the assistant emergency coordinator for training (Hardware). Jim also likes building stealth antennas and has written articles for QST and our local newsletter.
