UPDATED 3/28/2025!!! Join NFARL for the 2025 Georgia Parks on the Air Event!
Calling all NFARL members! Get ready for an exciting weekend of portable ham radio operations as we gear up for the Third Annual Georgia Parks on the Air (GAPOTA) event, happening April 5-6, 2025! NFARL will have a presence in the event on Saturday, April 5th! We will be operating as K4JJ from Panola Mountain State Park, 2620 Highway 155 SW Stockbridge, GA 30281. We'll be at Picnic Shelter 02.
Last year’s event was a huge success, with activators on 51 out of 52 listed parks, over 4000 hunters, and nearly 12,000 QSOs. NFARL placed 4th with only 89 QSOs—but this year, we have a chance to aim higher! The rules have been clarified, and we’re rallying our members to make a strong club entry. Let’s show the other Georgia clubs what NFARL can do! We will be setting up our station early Saturday morning so we are on the air at 8AM. Come join us!
How You Can Participate
🔹 Activate a Park – Join us at Panola on Saturday for our club activation. Or, set up your station in one of Georgia’s beautiful state parks and operate as an individual or part of a club activation.
🔹 Be a Rover – Activate multiple parks throughout the event.
🔹 Hunt from Home – Even if you can’t activate a park, you can still make QSOs and help activators reach their goals.
🔹 QRP Category – Try your hand at low-power operations for an extra challenge.
