Field Day Bulletin #1
June 1, 2008
Mark Your Calendars
Attention fellow NFARLers! Mark your calendars.
Field Day 2008 is almost here. The dates are 28 – 29 June. Operations start at 18:00 UTC (2:00 PM local time) and run for 24 hours. Set up begins at 8:00 AM 28 June. This year we're holding Field Day, once again, at the Waller Park Extension off Oxbo Road in Roswell. Your Field Day team has plans to operate 4A, with two phone stations (20 and 40 meters), a CW station, a digital station, and a VHF/UHF station. Also, we'll have a GOTA (Get on the Air) station for anyone who got licensed since last Field Day and newcomers who want to try their hand at making a few QSOs, or anyone who wants to see what it is all about.
While we've been working extremely hard to make Field Day 2008 a
success, there is still one more element we need. And that is YOU and
your participation. Please contact us and let us know what time
and/or modes you'd like to work during Field Day. We also still need
volunteers to help with last minute details and to be captains for the
two phone stations. Your involvement is critical to making our
activities this year a resounding success.
For more information and to volunteer, contact Ian (AK4IK) at ak4ik@nfarl.org or 404-626-1566, or Steve Knittel (KC4YBO) at kc4ybo@nfarl.org or 678-467-3908.
Thanks and we look forward to seeing everyone on 28 June.
