Elk / Nokomis Boat Ramp (FL273S) Activation
Terry W4YBV activated Elk/Nokomis Boat Ramp on February 9th.
Here is a copy of the planned activation information Terry filed with the US Islands Awards Program prior to his activation. The form he used is available on the US Islands web site here.
Most information needed to complete the form is readily apparent and available. Island number and name can be obtained from the US Islands web site if the island has been previously qualified. If not, procedures for qualifying your island are also available from the US Islands web site.
Here are a few facts about Terry's operation that might prove helpful as you plan yours.

Additional notes from Terry:
On Sunday I teamed up with Steve AD4XT who was activating Providence Canyon State Park on 40-M. We were both on 7.260 and took turns calling CQ. This was the first time we had worked together to activate a park and an island and it worked out great for both of us.
If you are planning a trip to Florida this year, consider including an activation or qualification in your trip. The state has a total of 563 islands — more than any other state. 502 of Florida's islands have already been qualified and can be easily activated; the remaining 61 need to be qualified.
