NFARL Internet Remote Base Operation
General Information

This is an actual RF transceiver and you are transmitting on the air. Remember to follow all FCC rules. Think of the Internet as a long microphone cord to this rig. Do not share your login information with anyone. Logs are kept of all usage in case there is an issue with the FCC. Sharing your login information will result in a loss of your privileges. Sorry, to be a bit heavy handed here, but this is to protect everyone. This is also only a benefit for current NFARL members. Please give everyone a chance to use the remote base. Sessions are currently set to one hour.
You may operate all modes appropriate for your license class: CW, PSK, AM, FM, and SSB. Your user/ID and password allow you to only transmit on the portion of the band that is appropriate for your license class. If you upgrade your license then you should let wb4mak@nfarl.org know so he can authorize the additional frequency transmit privileges.

You may use Chat to communicate with someone using the remote base for example to ask what time their session is complete.
You may select DX Cluster to pull up a list of current DX spots. Clicking on the frequency will automatically tune the radio to that spot. There is no rotator on this system.
You may select LOG to log your contacts in ADIF format on your computer.
You may store Memories of your favorite frequencies and modes. Tune the radio that that frequency and mode then select Memories and save the data.
Go to Info and print the keyboard commands. They’re very helpful.
Here is the master website for the software if you want to do more research: www.w4mq.com and here is the reflector: http://groups-beta.google.com/group/remotebase.

You may monitor all bands 160M – 70 cm. The rig is a Kenwood TS-2000 for specs and will do 100 watts. http://tinyurl.com/6pcux2 There is an automatic tuner.
Vista: To receive sound you “may” need to install Skype: http://tinyurl.com/mnqa3 . You will then need to send an email to wb4mak@nfarl.org with your Skype ID so that he can add you to Club Station Skype host application. Launch Web Transceiver and then connect via Skype to NFARLHF. You may also use this with XP if your sound quality is better via Skype.
Feel free to ask for help on the NFARL repeater 145.47(-) PL 100 or ask questions on the NFARL Yahoo Group reflector: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/nfarl/.
