2009 Field Day Bulletin #5

All,

Field Day is now a mere 10 days out, and I want to emphasize a few late items:

  1. Please download and familiarize yourself with the N3FJP logging software which we'll use at Field Day.  A full-version demo copy, limited to 30 QSOs, can be downloaded from http://www.n3fjp.com.
  2. Please RSVP to Shelia Staton, KD4NKE if you are coming to dinner.  She would like to have RSVPs by this Friday, 19 June.  RSVP to kd4nke at nfarl dot org.
  3. We still need a grill master for Saturday dinner, someone to cook the hamburgers and hot dogs that will go along with the barbecue from Spiced Right.  Also, we ask people to bring side items and desserts to both go with dinner and last throughout the evening.  Field Day operations are hard work, and our operators need fuel to keep going! :-)
  4. If you still haven't signed up to operate, please check the schedule on the Field Day section of the web site.  Contact the station captain of your choice and offer your time and skills!
  5. We want this year to be the best Field Day NFARL has ever had.  We strongly encourage everyone to come out and bring your friends, family, neighbors, co-workers, and anyone else you can convince to come out.

That's all for now.  I'm sure I'll have more for you as we get closer to Field Day.  Until then,

73,

Ian, AK4IK

P.S.  As you download and familiarize yourself with the N3FJP contest logging software, please make sure you download the non-network version of the software.  You get to it by using the first two links on the Field Day Logger download page.  We will not use the network version of the software, and it installs and stores data a bit differently than the non-networked version.  Again, please make sure you download the non-network version of the software.  If you have any questions, please contact me at ak4ik at nfarl dot org.

Thanks and 73,

Ian, AK4IK
