2009 Field Day Bulletin #2

Greetings everyone!

Here we are, two months out from Field Day, and things are really hopping.  Our station captains are hard at work putting the finishing touches on their stations.  We're getting many people signing up to operate the various stations throughout the event.  We've got great publicity planned, and the whole team is working hard to make this the best Field Day ever for NFARL!

We'll be holding Field Day at Waller Park Extension in Roswell again this year.  This location worked incredibly well for us over the last two years, and the City of Roswell Parks and Recreation Department is happy to have us come back again this year.  We'll have park information and a photo of our layout on the club web site as soon as I finish putting that together.  We are also already posted on the ARRL Field Day Locator.  Here's the URL: http://www.arrl.org/contests/announcements/fd/locator.php

One major change to our operation this year is the call sign we're using.  This year we'll use W4QO as our Field Day call sign, with the GOTA station using K4BB again (thanks Jim Stafford and Bob Beeman for donating your call signs for Field Day).  This change stems from a desire to have a shorter call sign and one that works better for Morse code.

That's all for now.   Stay tuned for more information about Field Day as it becomes available.
