Field Day

Thanks to all who participated in, visited, helped, joined us for the 2008 NFARL Field Day.

Early results show almost 2,000 contacts on 5 stations (3 main stations plus GOTA and VHF).   This is outstanding for the club in this time of poor band conditions.

Field Day 2008

On that point, Sunday morning proved a boon to 15M where over 100 contacts were made by the GOTA station.   Just shows what can happen when the bands open up IF there are people there to contact.

To top off the great food and hospitality, we had Senator Isakson and Representative Price visit our site along with many other dignitaries.   In total, almost 190 folks visited the site (61 NFARL members).

A half dozen Boy Scouts earned the radio merit badge at the event as well.

Scores of folks visited us based on the publicity article in the previous week's AJC.   Seems like a "good time was had by all".

Pictures of the event submitted by participants and visitors are available in the nfarl.org photo album.  Thanks to all who submitted pictures.
